Dear Thokozani
This is a response to an article you raised in Trevor Ncube’s Newsday (Southern Edition) newspaper of Wednesday February 9, 2011. It should have taught you a lesson that on page 8, of the same Newsday issue, an editorial comment titled, “PM, Be Careful What You Say” your boss the Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai is lambasted for issuing a solidarity statement with the oppressed people of Egypt. Trevor Ncube’s newspaper, which never misses an opportunity to take a dig at Tsvangirai, has the temerity of even asking, “Is Tsvangirai just trying to regain popularity….”

Thokozani Khupe
Hence, it is little wonder that many MDC cadres in Harare and Bulawayo are questioning the good publicity that you are getting in Zanu-PF structures and press such as The Chronicle, Newsday and Zanu-PF’s anti-Tsvangirai publication, The Insider, among others. In addition, it is now an open secret that you decimated MDC structures in Makokoba, It is now known that all patriotic, pioneering and experienced cadres of the MDC have been harassed and removed from the party through the actions of Deputy Prime Minister, Miss Thokozani Khupe. The MDC Vanguards challenge, Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai, Party Spokesman, Nelson Chamisa, National Organising Secretary, Mr. Elias Mudzuri and the whole MDC-T to produce the list of names that formed the party’s Makokoba’sstructures, as they originally were, in January 2007. Secondly after producing these The MDC Vanguards challenge Prime Minister, Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai, Party Spokesman, Nelson Chamisa, National Organising Secretary, Mr. Elias Mudzuri and the whole MDC-T to then produce the structures as they relayed by the MDC-T Vice President at the end of 2009. The next question The MDC Vanguards ask is, “What happened to all those names that formed the original structures?
Let us ask more? Are the new “members” who now form the “new” Makokoba MDC structures originally MDC? Or could we simply say, with pin-point accuracy, that most if not all of them, are ex-ZANU-PF? Another question is, “HOW many among them enjoy secretive and sell-out relationship with the notorious Jabulani Sibanda? Tell the nation Miss Thoko?
In your article you referred so many times to, “The will of the people.” This is excellent coming from someone like you. However the English have a good saying in, “Charity begins at home.” In 2008, Ward 20 Councillor, Mr.Rafo Moyo contested in the MDC-T primary elections for council. RafoMoyo polled 71 votes against his opponent’s 10. Rafo Moyo is of Shona extract, while his opponent is Ndebele. Is it not true, Miss Thokozani Khupe, Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, summoned Rafo Moyo to your office at Fast Climbers Restaurant? Miss Khupe then demanded Rafo to withdraw from the race. Is it not true that the DPM said, “IBulawayongeyamaNdebele.NgicelaungangenikukhethongobaulitshonawenaRafo (Bulawayo is for Ndebele folks. So go and withdraw your candidature because you are Shona). Did this incident not spark uproar amongst MDC members?
Furthermore, is this not the same criteria you demanded of Ward 21 Councillor, Reuben Matengu? And did this not cause commotion amongst MDC-T members? As for these demands that you made, are these in the MDC Constitution and Manifesto? Is this how the MDC-T is run? Is this therefore the “Will of The People” that you wrote about in Trevor Ncube’s Newsday newspaper?
In another incident that happened in Makokoba, Deputy Prime Minister, Miss Thokozani Khupe, ordered the expulsion of Innocent Matiyemba from the party because he is Shona. Matiyemba sin to date, is that he put forward his name for council. Matiyemba became a member of the Movement in 2001. However, DPM Khupe chose to unilaterally appoint James Sithole to the position of Ward 7 Councillor. James had just arrived from his stay in Zanu-PF. He became a member of the MDC in 2007. Therefore DPM contravened the Party’s constritution which requires anyone who contests for public office to hold at least two years membership. Chinjaleaks therefore challenges, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Party Spokesman, Nelson Chamisa and National Organising Secretray to prove James’ credentials. The Party must also show why Innocent Matiyemba was dismissed from the party.
Chinjaleaks is prepared to pay US$ 1 000 000 to Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, Party Spokesman, Nelson Chamisa and National Organising Secretary, Elias Mudzuri on one condition. They must show that the dismissal of innocent Matiyemba from the party’s Ward 7 structures in 2007 was according to the MDC constitution. Chinjaleaks requires simple proof. For example copies of correspondence dealing with a disciplinary hearing that Matiyemba may have attended. A letter of resignation or dismissal or a valid vote of no confidence by established members at the time will also do.
It may also be important for the party hierarchy to show why in late 2007, MDC-T members were removed from the structures. The world may want to see their letters of resignation to prove that indeed the MDC-T is a Party of Excellence.
Is it also not true, Deputy Prime Minister, Miss Thokozani Khupe, that in 2008, you gave an order to the “Presiding Officer” who supervised the MDC-T Matabeleland South Provincial elections not to consider contestants who are of Shona origin? Is it not true that the current Provincial Secretary for Matabeleland South, Mr.Gangata was personally barred by you, Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from contesting (Thus defeating your so called “will of the people”)? How many other MDC-T cadres of Shona origin have been denied the right to;
1. Stand in Primary elections for the position of Member of Parliament. For example, Bulawayo National Representative, Victor Mapungwane campaigned for Miss Thokozani Khupe in the last Congress. He was promised the Governorship for Bulawayo if Khupe came to power. As a matter of fact, Mapungwane was denied the Governorship because according to DPM Khupe’s own verbatim, “He is Shona.” Seiso Moyo who comes from Beitbridge was awarded the position, and yet he has never worked in Bulawayo.
2. Work within the party ,”
3. Stand and maintain their position within the MDC structures
4. Speak in their own language during party functions were done
Therefore once again DPM, the English have another saying. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. You are advised Dear DPM not to shout about issues pertaining to the Ivory Coast, Egypt or Tunisia. Look at your own constituency, look at yourself. Smell your own armpits before you comment on someone else’s odour. Let the Grandmaster Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai do that. As DPM your image and dignity among MDC-T members is so soiled that you do not have a moral leg to stand on. Do not even talk about the “Will of the People” because you have denied the vote within the party and want now to pontificate as if it were a virtue that you have.
To prove, “Chinjaleaks”, may readers watch the composition of the coming MDC-T Bulawayo Provincial Executive and Committee structures. It will be interesting to see how many Shone people make it into that structure. It will be interesting to see how many Shona people will be accorded Khupe’s “Will of the People.” We now await Deputy Prime Minister, ThokozaniKhupe’s response.
Yours Faithfully
CHINJALEAKS
